There will be no COVID-19 update on Friday.
The Ministry of Health said in its Thursday media statement that over the Easter weekend there will continue to be regular updates with the latest COVID-19 data.
However, Good Friday is the exception. The next 1pm statement will be on Saturday and will include the figures from the 48 hours prior.
This is similar to how the ministry dealt with updates over the Christmas and early January break when there were several days without any new data.
There were 9563 new community cases reported on Thursday. The seven-day rolling average has also continued to decline, with it being 8990 on Thursday, down from 11,791 a week ago.
"The number of reported community cases is expected to continue to fluctuate day to day, but the overall trend remains an overall reduction in reported cases."
There were also 519 hospitalisations reported as well as 16 further deaths.
"We are reminding you that if you are going away this Easter weekend, you should have plans in place in the event you contract COVID-19 or are identified as a household contact of a case," the ministry said.
"You would need to self-isolate and likely remain wherever you test positive or become a household contact, so there may be extra costs involved in paying for additional accommodation and changing your travel plans."
If someone who has tested positive has used their own vehicle to travel, they can use it to return home to isolate "taking public health measures to ensure you don’t infect anyone on your way home – such as maintaining social distance and using self-service petrol stations".
"However, if you have used public transport or travelled between islands, you won’t be able to isolate at your home. So it is important you have a plan and the ability to isolate where you are holidaying, if you need to do so."
The ministry is reminding people to keep up to date with their vaccinations, wear masks where necessary and stay home if they are unwell.
