Two more people have been arrested in relation to an incident where a tanker was stopped by a group of boy racers and emptied of milk while someone smashed its windscreen with a hammer.

In a statement, Waikato West Area Commander Insp Will Loughrin said a 19-year-old and 17-year-old have been arrested and charged with multiple offences in relation to the incident, which happened on Orini Rd near the Waikato town of Taupiri last month.

"Police acting on information received executed two search warrants and a 17-year-old male was arrested on Thursday," Loughrin said.

"The 17-year-old will face charges of unlawful possession of an imitation firearm, incites disorderly behaviour and sustained loss of traction.

"Last week, a 19-year-old man was charged with sustained loss of traction."

Loughrin said investigations were continuing to locate two more 18-year-old men in relation to the attack.

"We welcome help and information from the community which can help us prevent this type of antisocial behaviour.

"This type of behaviour won't be tolerated and we will continue to actively investigate and act on information provided to us.

"We are committed to holding all offenders to account and keeping our roads safe."

Any members of the public with information were urged to contact police on 105, quoting file number 220320/4139.

Three people have now been arrested in relation to the incident. Late last month, another 18-year-old was charged with wilful damage, disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence and possession of an offensive weapon.
