A body has been found in the search for a Kiwi missing in the United Kingdom, British police have confirmed.
Joseph Day, 31, a former TVNZ camera operator, had been missing since Saturday evening (local time), which friends and family said was out of character.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed a body was found in Bristol's Avon Gorge, and while formal identification is yet to take place, Day's family have been updated.
"Our hearts go out to them and we thank them for their patience while enquiries into the circumstances of death continue," police said in a statement.
Police said the body was found in the early hours of Tuesday morning (local time).
Day lived in the Clifton area of Bristol and was last seen on Saturday at 8:45pm (local time). He hasn't responded to phone calls or texts since.
Earlier, his fiancee had taken to social media pleading for anyone with any information to come forward.
