A Givealittle page has been launched for a Kiwi who has been missing for several days in the UK.
Joseph Day, 31, a former TVNZ camera operator, had been missing since Saturday evening (local time), which friends and family said was out of character.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed on Wednesday (NZ time) that a body was found in Bristol's Avon Gorge, and while formal identification is yet to take place, Day's family has been updated.
"Our hearts go out to them and we thank them for their patience while enquiries into the circumstances of death continue," police said in a statement.
The Givealittle page, which was set up on Wednesday has already raised more than $36,000 at the time of writing.
"The money raised will be used to support Joe and Kelsey's family in their efforts in the open investigation, journey to Bristol, and costs related to bringing him home to rest in Aotearoa, New Zealand," page creator Hayley Cashmore said, who is a close friend of Day.
Close friends and colleagues of Day have posted on social media to pay tribute to him.
"Whether it was the Christchurch terror attack, a trip to Hollywood... or a schoolboy rugby game in Palmy, you always delivered," journalist Jehan Casinader wrote on Twitter.
"His beautiful eye and deep soul became pictures that lifted our stories to another level," TVNZ Sunday correspondent Mark Crysell wrote on Twitter.
