One firefighter is injured following a large blaze that ripped through two buildings in Auckland's Takanini overnight.
Fire and Emergency were called to the fire on Walters Road at 11:55pm.
Counties Manukau district commander Brad Mosby told Newshub 14 fire crews worked to contain the blaze at the peak of the event.
Accommodation facilities surrounding the fire were evacuated.
Mosby said the fire is now contained and fire investigators have been at the scene and will return today.
The injured firefighter is in Middlemore Hospital but it is unclear what their condition is.
