A man with gang ties has been arrested after fleeing police in Auckland on Wednesday night.
Police said in a statement on Thursday a 28-year-old man has been charged following a fleeing driver incident that was brought to a conclusion in Massey.
"The man, who is an associate of the Headhunters Motorcycle Gang, is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today," the statement said.
"He has been charged with reckless driving, failing to stop and driving while disqualified."
Police told Newshub on Wednesday armed police gathered at a street in Massey in west Auckland and blocked a road near the motorway.
The incident started after the driver fled from police in Glen Eden at around 7pm where it was tracked by the Eagle helicopter to an address in Massey.
Photos from the scene show several police cars and officers standing on the road.
