Police are investigating after a house was shot at and left riddled with bullet holes in south Auckland overnight.
Police said in a statement they received a report of gunshots on Gibbs Road at around 12:50am on Sunday.
"On arrival, police discovered an address had been shot at. Thankfully no one was injured during this incident," the statement said.
Police said they're currently at the scene completing a scene examination and are making enquiries into the circumstances of the shooting.
"At this time, we do not believe this to be linked to recent firearms incidents across Tamaki Makaurau this week," police said.
Photos from NZ Herald show at least 20 bullet holes in the walls and windows of the house and in a sleepout made from a metal container.
It comes after a spate of shootings in the Auckland area over the past week. On Saturday, three people were injured after an incident in south Auckland.
Police found one person had been shot in the thigh and another two people were left with head injuries.
On Wednesday night, there were two shootings - the first was in Vina Place in Massey and the second in the eastern suburb of Mellons Bay on Bleakhouse Road.
On Tuesday night, police said the Killer Beez and Tribesmen gangs were behind seven shootings in Ōtara, Papatoetoe, Flat Bush, Papakura, Te Atatū, Henderson and Mt Albert.
