A large Wellington commercial construction company has gone into liquidation.
Liquidators, Grant Thornton, have been appointed today to Armstrong Downes Commercial.
The company's website says it specialises in commercial construction for government, retail, education, and industrial projects in the Wellington region.
Notable projects the company has taken charge of in recent years include the strengthening of stands at the Basin Reserve and the redevelopment of Wellington's Frank Kitts Park.
In 2019, the company found itself involved in a court case after plumbing contractors completed incompetent work at a Lower Hutt retirement village that Armstrong Downes Commercial built.
