Video obtained by the Herald shows residents of the street where the house was located counting a number of spent shotgun cartridges.
Armed police also responded to an incident in Mangere Bridge after gunshot noises were heard in the Auckland suburb.
A witness in the area told Newshub on Friday night the Armed Offenders Squad was at the scene and an Eagle helicopter had been circling the area.

Police also attended a firearms incidents in Doone Place in Massey, after reports of gunshot.

There have now been over 20 drive-by shootings in Auckland, all thought to be related to an ongoing feud between the Killer Beez and Tribesman gangs.
Most of the attacks have been drive-by shootings of houses where gang or ex-gang members were thought to live.
However at least two that were targetted didn't have gang connections, which has concerned police and residents of the suburbs hardest hit.
Counties Manukau district commander Jill Rogers in May confirmed a number of the shootings in the recent spate in Auckland were gang-related involving the two gangs.
Rogers said the police are considering trying to broker a peace agreement between the two gangs.
"We've had success with that in the past and we have a role to play in the reinforcement and reassurance to our community but there is also a big part the community to play," she said.
"We saw some success with that the last time that these tensions elevated around November 2020, and in that case, a resolution was brokered by parties in the community.
Rogers said they're committed to holding the people behind the shootings to account.
"This is frightening for our communities, and that's why I can assure the community that we are committed to holding those people to account that took part in this abhorrent, high-risk behaviour," she said.
Newshub has contacted Police for more information on the overnight shootings.
