Warning this video contains scenes some may find disturbing.
An Auckland school says it has dealt with a "very disturbing" assault after footage of it circulated online and is understood to involve members of its community.
The video appears to show a group of nine young women approaching a house before a scuffle breaks out on the front doorstep.
It is understood to involve members of the Tamaki College community in Glen Innes.
The group can be seen pulling someone away from the house and throwing them to the ground, where the fight continues.
Meanwhile, the other half of the group appears to continue striking an older man standing at the front door who is dressed in hi-vis.
Tamaki College posted a statement on its Facebook page and said they are aware of the "very disturbing" video circulating online.
"Tamaki College does not endorse violence of any kind. We continue to provide a safe learning environment for students and whanau," Principal Soana Pamaka and the Tamaki College School Board said in a statement.
"We thank you for your concerns and messages of support and we can reassure you that this incident has been dealt with by the school and is currently being dealt with by the NZ Police.
"We ask for your patience and understanding to allow the NZ Police to deal with this the right way and ask that we support our school, community and both of the families as we work through this difficult situation.
"One way to support this is to report the video so that it stops circulating."
Newshub has reached out to Tamaki College for further comment.
