The Ministry of Health revealed there are 5435 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
Another 15 people have died with COVID-19 taking the country's virus death toll to 1374.
Hospitalisations increased to 377 while there are six people in ICU.

1:24pm - The Ministry of Health has provided an update on the COVID-19 related deaths:
Today we are reporting 5,435 community cases, 377 current hospitalisations, and 15 deaths.
The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers today is 5,451 – last Thursday, it was 6,059.
COVID-19 deaths
Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 15 people with COVID-19. Twelve of these deaths occurred this month and three deaths were in April and May 2022.
Today’s reported deaths take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,374 and the seven-day rolling average of reported deaths is 12.
Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; three people were from Northland, five were from the Auckland region, one from Taranaki, one from MidCentral, one from the Wellington region, one from Canterbury, one from South Canterbury and two from Southern.
Two were in their 30s; one was in their 50s; one was in their 60s; three were in their 70s; six were in their 80s; and two were aged over 90. Of these people, seven were women and eight were men.
This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them. Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.

There are 107 new COVID cases recorded at the border in Managed Isolation and Quarantine.

12:53pm - Pre-departure test requirements will be dropped from late Monday night, the COVID-19 Response Minister has announced.
Travellers coming into New Zealand will not need a COVID-19 pre-departure test from 11:59pm on Monday, June 20.
Dr Ayesha Verrall, who was announced as the new COVID-19 Response Minister on Monday, said the challenges of getting a pre-departure test overseas are now no longer outweighed by the public health benefits.
She described the cost and availability of getting a test as "increasingly becoming a barrier for people intending to travel here". This is becoming particularly difficult as countries wind back their own testing availability.
