The family-owned business of all Wendy's restaurants throughout Aotearoa is for sale for the first time in 34 years.
Husband and wife Danny and Dianne Lendich bought Wendy's to Aotearoa in 1988 and their daughter and chief executive Danielle said the business has "never been better".
"But with both parents in their 70s, now is the right time for change," she said in a statement.
The sale includes the entire Wendy's New Zealand franchise - 22 restaurants across the motu.
"Operations are strong across the country and we’re experiencing record sales. Even during the worst of COVID, there has been huge demand," said Danielle.
She said the family-owned business has deeply rooted values and relationships; many staff and suppliers have been with the company for decades.
"We hope the new franchisee will operate with the same core values and look after not just the business, but the wider Wendy's family."
She added store refurbishments, new equipment and technology upgrades are underway
