A Kiwi woman is speaking out after a man filmed her for 20 minutes while she was on a train in Queensland, Australia.

Aspiring model Shinae, 21, posted a video to her Tik Tok showing a man filming her on his phone while she was on the train.

Shinae, from Te Awamutu, told The Sun the brazen encounter happened while she was on her way to visit a friend.

"I got on the train and noticed it was an empty carriage but I saw a man get on from the same station and sit across from me. I thought nothing much," she told the outlet.

But Shinae said as she was scrolling her phone she noticed the man was staring at her. She looked away but when she looked up again he was pointing his phone directly at her.

"I instantly felt uneasy. He saw me look in his direction but he continued to film," she told The Sun.

Shinae said she decided to do the same thing and see what he did, to check whether he was in fact filming her.

As soon as Shinae started filming him, the man got up and walked away before getting off at the next station.

The Kiwi said the whole experience was unsettling and upsetting.

"It's not nice knowing you aren't safe in the daytime on public transport. It's really disappointing this still happens," she told The Sun.

As soon as she got off the train she called her friend to let them know what was happening. She also forwarded the video to the train station to see if they could identify the man.
