A man has been charged with allegedly receiving stolen goods in connection with a brazen daylight robbery in the Auckland suburb of Takapuna last week.
Two men were caught on camera allegedly robbing Michael Hill Jewellers on Hurstmere Road at around 4:20pm on Thursday afternoon.
The robbers were clearly visible as they smashed countertops and placed jewellery into bags, before speeding off in a getaway car.
Police said in a statement on Wednesday they had arrested one man and recovered stolen goods after searching two west Auckland houses.
Police said a 20-year-old man has been charged with receiving stolen property and is due to appear in the Waitakere District Court at a later date.
Waitematā East Area Commander Inspector Stefan Sagar told Newshub at the time two offenders carrying metal bars entered the premises and smashed several glass cabinets.
"They have taken a number of items and decamped in a vehicle, which was later found abandoned a short distance away."
