A person has been admitted to hospital after a "grievous assault" in east Auckland on Saturday.
Emergency services say a person arrived at Ormiston Hospital with "serious stabbing injuries" at about 2:50pm today and was transported to Middlemore Hospital.
Police say they attended the scene of the assault in Howick, where the alleged offender was arrested.
They say the incident is not gang-related and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
