Shocking CCTV footage has emerged of a ram-raid capturing the extent of the damage caused by the thief.
Footage shows a van deliberately crashing through an Auckland store entrance with the thief driving off with the stolen goods in a matter of seconds.
Police said they were called to the ram-raid at Stihl Shop on New North Rd, Mt Albert just before 5:20am on Wednesday.
Security cameras captured the break-in, showing a white van reversing through the shop's glass entrance completely destroying the shopfront.
The van stops at the centre of the shop, just in front of the counter.
One person dressed in black and wearing a mask then gets out of the van and can be seen throwing items from the store in the van's missing rear window.
The shop owner said this wasn't the first time they had been ram-raided and posted the video and photos to help find those responsible.
The video then stops after 55 seconds.
"Unfortunately we have been hit with another RAM RAID this around 5.30am this morning,
Photos below if anyone was driving past or RECOGNISES THIS PERSON?? please please get in touch with us or the police- it all helps," the owner said.
A police spokesperson said officers were following up with the store about any items that had been taken.
"Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around this time can contact police on 105 quoting file number 220615/0458."
