Rain continues to bombard parts of the North Island, with multiple weather warnings still in place.
Wild conditions have lashed New Zealand this week, with several areas reporting flooding on Thursday.
Northland, Auckland, Great Barrier Island, Coromandel, Waikato, Waitomo, Taumarunui and Taranaki were among the areas under a severe thunderstorm watch until at least 5pm.
MetService said an active front was moving across the North Island on Thursday.
In Marokopa, a rural community in Waitomo, the main road was starting to flood late on Thursday morning, locals said on social media.

There was also flooding reported in the Ruapehu District, with surface water as deep as 1m.
"Council Civil Defence and emergency services are responding to surface flooding on streets in Matapuna.
"The worst-affected street is Totara Cres where water is up to 1m in parts," the Ruapehu District Council said.
Also under a severe thunderstorm watch on Thursday were Northland, Tongariro National Park, Bay of Plenty, Horowhenua-Kapiti and Wellington. Those watches started as early as 10am through to as late as 6pm on Thursday.
MetService said the potential for severe thunderstorms and rain would linger throughout the day.
"There's an easing trend as we head into Friday, but there's still [a] risk of thunderstorms," the forecaster said.
In the South Island, there's a heavy rain warning in place for Westland until at least 1pm on Thursday.
