A man has suffered serious injuries after being shot at an address near Christchurch on Saturday morning.
Police said they were called to the incident in Rolleston near Christchurch at 11:40am.
"Police are working to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident, however initial indications are that the incident involved people known to each other," a police spokesperson said.
"At this early stage of our enquiries, there is no further information available."
St Johns said they assessed and treated one patient with serious injuries who was transported to Christchurch Hospital.
