Two police cars have collided during a fleeing driver incident on Monday afternoon.
One person is in custody after the fleeing driver incident. Police said they were notified at 12:28pm about a vehicle of interest in regards to a previous incident.
They said police signalled for the car to stop, but it didn't and so a pursuit began. The police Eagle helicopter monitored the vehicle and road spikes were successfully deployed at the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway on-ramp.
The car drove on the wrong side of the highway, hitting another person's car along the way. This person sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The fleeing car came to a stop on the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway and the driver was taken into custody without incident, police said.
Also just down the highway, two police cars that were following each other collided.
Police said are no injuries and both cars are fully operational.
Video taken on the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway shows the two police cars that collided. Neither car was hugely damaged, although one was seen on the back of a tow truck.
