Hamilton adult worker Lisa Lewis is throwing her hat in the ring for another Mayoral bid - this time in Auckland.
Lewis announced on her Facebook page on Wednesday she would run in the Super City this year after unsuccessful bids in Hamilton in 2019 and 2010 - where she came seventh and fourth respectively.
"There are no spiders in my closet, what you see is what you get. Being a household name, I can't be anyone but myself," she said in her candidate statement.
Lewis became that household name when she streaked at an All Blacks v Ireland match in 2006.
"For five years, I pursued a council regarding no RMA [Resource Management Act] negatively affecting a residential area. My persistence paid off with compliance enforced," Lewis said, adding it was that commitment that would make her a good Mayor.
"For that reason, I can be held accountable. I know what it's like not having a roof over my head, working hard to get what I want out of my life."
As for her ideas for the city - New Zealand's largest - Lewis wanted "to be transparent and include everyone. Let's erect Auckland together".
"Vote Lisa Lewis, Auckland Mayor - and I might let you cut the ribbon!" she said, accompanied by a half-naked photo of purple ribbon wrapped around her.
Her opponents include present councillor Efeso Collins, Heart of the City chief executive Viv Beck, restaurant owner Leo Molloy and freelance media operator Craig Lord. Incumbent Mayor Phil Goff was stepping aside.
On Wednesday, Molloy - no stranger to controversial headlines himself - welcomed Lewis' bid.
"Our campaign team values diversity and welcomes more democratic participation by passionate Aucklanders - and Lisa is certainly that!
"This city needs candidates who will embrace proper debate," Molloy said.
