The recent upgrade of Auckland's Royal Oak roundabout has ignited a debate over where the worst roundabout in New Zealand is, as locals have complained the changes didn't do enough to help.
The Royal Oak roundabout was changed in 2021 after 61 crashes occurred there over a four-year period.
People driving through the Royal Oak roundabout found it difficult to use as it has five entrances.
On Tuesday morning, AM show asked their viewers where the worst roundabout or intersection is in New Zealand.
AM newsreader Bernadine Oliver-Kerby said she reckons the roundabout in Panmure, Auckland is the worst and it makes the Royal Oak one "look like a walk in the park."
"It has about seven arms coming off it. It's crazy," she said.
Many viewers contacted AM about where the worst roundabout in the country was and Blenheim came out on top.
One viewer said: "Worst roundabout is definitely in Blenheim. There's a train track going through it and it's a double lane which makes things tricky.
They also added Blenheim drivers are the worst drivers in New Zealand.
Another viewer emailed in and agreed Blenheim had the worst roundabout.
"The Sockburn roundabout on the east side of Sockburn bridge is a problem two lanes off and on to bridge with the busy Blenheim Road at the other side of the roundabout and four other double entrance roads at the north and south side."
They said they've been hit twice people said "I didn't see you," and use a different route now.
A third person emailed in and agreed the poorly planned Blenheim roundabout said it affects the traffic of people going to and from the Picton ferry terminal.
"All Southbound traffic from Picton ferries and Northbound traffic going to catch ferries, this includes hundreds of trucks every day, have to travel through this roundabout.
"This could have been avoided by building a bypass but authorities instead decided to build a new bridge to assist with the flow of traffic to this roundabout. Go figure."
