Those in the super city may have spent the night tossing and turning after MetService recorded the warmest minimum temperature in August since records began.
MetService recorded Tuesday's overnight low of 15.1 degrees. The previous record sat at 14.3 degrees set in 1970 and 1998.
A MetService forecaster told Newshub they were "very surprised by how warm it actually was".
"For late winter these kinds of temperatures are real mild you could even say warm."
And MetService warns it could continue into the week.
"It's quite exceptional that it's going to be 15 degrees minimum in August three nights in a row."
