Mystery surrounds a continued police presence in the south Auckland suburb of Clendon Park.
Police arrived at a property on Moncrieff Avenue at around 12pm on Thursday, where they established a cordon and erected a "scene examination" tent.
What appeared to be two body bags were removed from the driveway of the home late on Thursday night.
In a statement, police said they're in the early stages of their inquiry, but reassured the community there was no risk to the public.
A neighbour told RNZ the current occupants of the property moved in about six months ago.
