Anti-Government protesters in Auckland have started their journey down to Wellington with demonstrators escorted over Auckland Harbour Bridge by police.
A convoy of Freedom and Rights Coalition protesters gathered at Onepoto Domain on Auckland's North Shore on Monday morning, as they planned to make their way down to the Capital for the anti-Government protest planned for Tuesday.
Police were present at the Domain before protesters left and crossed Auckland Harbour Bridge at around 7:30am, with one police car seen among the convoy.
Around 100 vehicles have been seen driving together on Auckland's Southern Motorway, with members waving to each other and flags being waved out the window of cars.
Videos posted of the convoy show two vans leading the group setting a speed of around 70km/h and covering two lanes.
For a large part of the journey on Auckland's motorways, the convoy left one lane free for vehicles not involved with the group to pass.
The Auckland convoy is expected to reach Hamilton at around 10am.
Police and Wellington City Council have already started to ramp up security measures with large concrete bollards positioned around Parliament.
Police have been approached for comment about this.
