A light plane has crashed near Thames Airfield.
The plane came down near Ngati Maru Highway at 12:45pm on Sunday, police said.
They added the pilot appears to be uninjured.
Edwin Booth, who saw the aftermath of the crash, told the NZ Herald the plane had hit power lines and crashed into a grassed area on the side of the road.
