A man has been left with gunshot wounds after a firearms incident in the west Auckland suburb of Sunnyvale on Sunday afternoon.
Police were alerted to the incident at around 1:20pm and found the man with injuries to his arm and leg.
He has been taken to hospital where he's in a serious condition.
Photos from the scene show armed officers blocking off Wattle Street, with multiple police cars and an ambulance further down the road.
"The local community will notice an increased police presence while staff make enquiries in the area," a police spokesperson said.
Cordons that were in place have now been stood down.
No one has been arrested at this stage.
