Four people have been hospitalised following a serious crash involving two vehicles south of Dunedin.
Emergency services were called to Taieri River Bridge on SH1, Otokia at 5:15am on Tuesday.
The four people were taken to Dunedin Hospital, one in a serious condition, two moderately injured and one with minor injuries.
A police spokesperson said both lanes of the road are blocked and they are advising motorists to expect delays or use an alternative route.
