Two people have been stabbed after a late-night altercatoin in New Plymouth on Wednesday.
Police and emergency services responded to reports of a "disturbance" on Cook St at 11:30pm.
"Enquiries are going to establish the circumstances, but based on the information available it seems to be some sort of altercation between two people known to each other," police said.
St John confirmed to Newshub they responded to the incident with two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle.
Two patients were transported to Taranaki Base Hospital with one in a critical condition and the other in a serious condition, St John said.
