Footage has been released of a man wanted by police after an attempted kidnapping of a woman in Christchurch.
She was approached while jogging on Kotare St, Fendalton at 6:20am on Monday - before she was almost dragged away. The alleged offender fled after a passing motorist got involved.
The man, who's seen running in the dashcam footage supplied by the police on Wednesday, is described as having dark hair, a short beard, being 5.8ft tall and between 25 and 33 years of age.
Police said the woman was shaken but uninjured after the distressing incident.
The public is being urged to get in touch with the police if they have any further information.
"Police would like to speak with anyone who recognises this man or anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the offence taking place," Det Snr Sgt Damon Wells said.
"Anyone with any information which could assist is urged to contact police on 105, referencing file number 221003/5623."
