A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after a body was found at a house in Whangārei last week.
Police launched a homicide investigation last Thursday afternoon after the body was found at an address in the suburb of Onerahi.
The man is due to appear in the Whangārei District Court on Monday afternoon to face the charge.
Whangārei CIB Detective Inspector Bridget Doell said police are providing support to the victim's family as they deal with their loss.
"While matters are now before the Court, police are still appealing for the public to assist us with our enquiries and we acknowledge those who have already come forward with information," Detective Inspector Doell said.
