New footage shows a man wanted for allegedly trying to kidnap women stumbling down a street in Christchurch.
The man is accused of attempting to kidnap two women in the suburb of Fendalton earlier this month.
At around 6.20am on October 3, an unknown man approached a woman jogging on Kotare Street and tried to drag her away.
A passing motorist luckily saw the incident and stepped in. Police said the woman was shaken but uninjured.
Police understand the same man approached another woman on Fendalton Road at 6.55am at the intersection of Clyde and Fendalton.
On Wednesday police released new video footage showing the man slowly walking on Middleton Road, near the intersection of Suva Street at 5am.
The man appears to stumble into a fence before continuing down the street.
Police are urgently requesting information from anyone who can identify the man.
Witnesses have described him as wearing a dark sleeveless vest over a dark t-shirt. The vest features a logo on the right side of the chest and the t-shirt has a large logo on each sleeve.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tania Jellyman said the man is also described as being of medium build, approximately 176cm to 179cm tall, with short black hair and a short beard. He is believed to be between 25 and 33 years old.
