Three people have been arrested in Wellington after hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods were seized by police.
In a statement, police said among the stolen items were high-value pushbikes, such as mountain bikes or e-bikes, whiteware and other household appliances, high-value tools and construction materials.
On Wednesday, more than 60 police officers were involved in the execution of 12 arrest warrants as a part of Operation Trump Card. Three people were arrested as a result.
"The offenders have been highly organised and Operation Trump Card has involved months of planning," said acting Detective Senior Sergeant Anna Grant.
Det Snr Sgt Grant said two men and a woman were arrested and are facing a number of charges. She added that more charges are likely to be laid.
"Over the coming weeks, there will be a significant amount of work undertaken to find the rightful owners of this property."
Police have alleged the property that was seized was acquired through theft and burglary, being shoplifted, and obtained by fraud.
"If anyone has been the subject of theft or burglary, we urge them to report it to police and give as much detail as possible about the stolen items," Det Snr Sgt Grant said.
Police said the investigation into the stolen goods is ongoing and more arrests are likely to be made.
