AM's hosts are incensed by a video showing a boy racer skidding and crashing into parked cars at a popular Auckland park at the weekend.
Videos posted on social media showed a driver in their V8 Holden Commodore doing skids up Hapimana St, at Bastion Point's Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park. The car is then seen ploughing into cars parked on the road of the road.
AM newsreader Oriini Kaipara responded to the video by saying, "That's what you get for being stupid".
Fellow host Amanda Gillies was also unimpressed.
"It's a really family-friendly place… and for them to be doing that? Nup - don't," she said.
Kaipara pointed to similar incidents where she'd seen the aftermath of people doing donuts on marae grounds.
"[It's] totally disrespectful and, if you're out there doing it, watch out - it's not cool."
Kaipara and Gillies questioned whether boy racers should be allowed access to stadiums to partake in such activity, so the public isn't impacted.
"Nice idea - but I don't quite think it would happen," host Ryan Bridge said.
