Christchurch police have taken six youths into custody following an assault on a man on Sunday afternoon.
A police spokesperson said a man was assaulted on Cashel St at about 2:30pm on Sunday, leaving him with minor injuries.
The spokesperson said the youths are "assisting" police with their enquiries into the assault.
"Police urge anyone who saw the incident and might have video or still images of it to contact police."
