Lockdowns have been lifted at schools in northwest Auckland following a reported "firearms incident" in the area.
Huapai District School in Kumeū said in a Facebook post earlier on Monday it was advised to go into lockdown by the Ministry of Education.
Newshub understands Kindy Kids Huapai and Oma Rapeti Early Learning Centre Kumeu also went into lockdown.
Police said they understand the lockdowns have been lifted.
In an earlier statement, police said they received reports of gunshots at a residential property.
"Police are at the address with the police helicopter Eagle, and are making enquiries.
"As a precaution, two nearby schools have been placed into lockdown. There have been no reports of injuries."
A Newshub camera operator saw police gathering outside a house on Main St in Huapai shortly after 12:30pm. A police car could also be seen in the carpark of The Secret Garden preschool.
A message on Huapai District School's Facebook page urged parents to stay away.
"Please DO NOT come to the school or phone the school as you will not be attended to as your child's welfare and safety is our priority," the post said.
"This includes contacting your child/ren via email or phone. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated at this time.
"All further updates will be provided here via the school app - SchoolApps and the website under the Latest News section. We will update the website when the lockdown has been completed."
