The Ministry of Health is providing an update on New Zealand's COVID-19 situation.
It comes after prominent epidemiologist Michael Baker said New Zealand was "very much" in "our third Omicron wave".
"Fortunately, it's not as intense as the first two but it's certainly happening," he told RNZ's First Up on Wednesday.
The ministry on Monday reported 21,595 new weekly community cases of COVID-19 and a further 56 virus-related deaths.
The livestream has ended.
