One person has died and another is missing after a boating accident in Auckland's Manukau Harbour on Sunday evening.
In a statement, police said the search and rescue operation for the missing boatie will continue on Monday morning.
This will include police searching by air and sea with help from the eagle helicopter and Coastguard.
On Sunday at around 7pm, police said they received a report a boat with five people on board had capsized in Manukau Harbour near Clarks Beach.
Inspector Jason Homan said two people made it to shore and were transported to Middlemore Hospital with three others reported to still be in the water.
"Police eagle helicopter attended and searched the water near the capsized vessel," Homan said.
"One person was located alive in the water by eagle helicopter and a crew member from the helicopter entered the water to provide assistance."
Coastguard took the person who was found in the water in their vessel and transported them to Clarks Beach where an ambulance provided medical attention.
The person was then transported to Middlemore Hospital.
Shortly afterwards, a person was found dead in the water while another is still missing.
Homan said the boat had been recovered by Coastguard and police and emergency services remained at Clarks Beach at 10pm on Sunday night.
