There are reports of an engine fire on a plane at Auckland Airport.
Police said they are assisting Fire and Emergency NZ (FENZ) with an incident at the Airport.
FENZ refused to comment due to its ongoing strike action.
One person tweeted: "Nothing like an emergency landing on one engine in the rain."
"The Captain on Flight NZ5200 from Blenheim to Auckland this afternoon observed a flare from the right-hand engine on approach into Auckland and as standard operating procedure alerted emergency services to be on standby as a precaution.
"The aircraft has landed safely, and all customers are now disembarking," Air New Zealand chief operational integrity and safety officer Captain David Morgan told Newshub.
Morgan also told Newshub the aircraft will be inspected by engineers before it is used again.
