A person is in a critical condition after an Auckland sightseeing bus hit them on a busy road in Epsom.
Police were called to the intersection of Gillies and Alpers Ave after the sightseeing bus struck a pedestrian at about 9:22am on Wednesday.
"The person has been transported to hospital with serious injuries," said a police spokesperson.
Pictures captured by Newshub show the passenger exit side of the windscreen smashed.
Police say a section of both roads will be closed while a scene examination is conducted.
The spokesperson warned motorists to expect delays and to choose an alternative route where available.
The Serious Crash Unit is also at the scene.
A St John spokesperson said two ambulances and a clinical manager responded to the crash.
"One patient was treated and transported to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition."
