Controversial lawyer Sue Grey will appear in the Nelson District Court this afternoon following earlier reports of her being taken into custody for "disrupting the court".
The Nelson District Court confirmed to Newshub that Grey will appear in court on Tuesday afternoon, but didn't detail what for.
Sue Grey will appear at 3:15pm.
In a Facebook livesteam, a person who appears to have been in court at the time of Grey's arrest said the judge wouldn't let Grey speak during a hearing for Kelvin McKenney.
Stuff reports McKenney, also known as Nganga, owns Mad Cafe, and was appearing at a Judge-alone trial relating to multiple charges of selling and displaying alcohol without a license.
The person in the Facebook livestream said Grey had asked the Judge "very calmly" to "put several things on the record".
"He wouldn't even listen for a split second and then instructed her to be taken away."
The Nelson District Court said they couldn't share any further information "at this stage".
A police spokesperson told Newshub a woman had been detained by Court staff and held in contempt.
