Hundreds of Kiwis in the lower North Island have reported feeling a 4.2 magnitude earthquake on Monday morning.
The quake struck 30km north of Whanganui at 9:03am and was 71km deep, according to GeoNet.
More than 900 hundred people had reported feeling the quake at the time of writing, with most describing it as 'light' or 'weak'. A few people living in and near Whanganui described the quake as 'strong'.
GeoNet has classfied the quake as 'weak'.
Many have taken to social media to report feeling the quake, with one describing it as a "solid shake".
