Police have taken a man into custody after he possessed a knife at a shopping centre in Auckland's New Lynn.
"The incident was reported before 4:00pm, where he was reported to be inside the shopping centre in an agitated state," a police spokesperson said in a statement.
Police said no one was injured and the man was quickly taken into custody.
"However, Police remain in the area and we are speaking with retailers to provide them with reassurance," a police spokesperson said.
