A gang member has been charged after a months-long police investigation into a methamphetamine supply operation in Bay of Plenty.

The 46-year-old man was found at an address on Thursday and subsequently arrested.

A police statement said the man, a member of the Mongrel Mob, was expected to appear in the Rotorua District Court on December 20 facing a raft of charges including supply, possession and manufacturing of methamphetamine.

"The supply of illicit substances to our community causes significant harm and can lead to further criminal offending."

Police made the arrest as part of Operation Richter, which aimed to disrupt organised crime groups and meth supply in Rotorua.

Before the latest charges, 12 had already been arrested as part of the operation.

The police statement said multiple vehicles, cash, guns, meth and meth equipment had also been seized.

"Methamphetamine devastates the most vulnerable in our communities, while criminal groups profit from its sale.

"We welcome information from anyone who has concerns about drug offending and organised crime in the community," police said.
