A person has been critically injured after a two-vehicle crash in Auckland on Monday morning.
Police said they are responding to a crash involving a car and a motorbike on Pakuranga Road, near the Panmure Bridge at 6:37am.
Police said one person has been taken to hospital in a critical condition, but it's not stated whether that's the motorbike or car driver.
Police added diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The crash is close to where Auckland Transport (AT) closed the middle lane on Pakuranga Rd, off the Panmure Bridge, after a near head-on collision, which motorists say was caused by "awful" road markings and signage.
After queries by Newshub about the road layout, AT said last week it had closed the centre lane and shut the "tidal traffic system" until safety issues were resolved.
"We are urgently reviewing the road layout to ensure it is safe for motorists," a spokesperson for AT said.
