Police appeal for information after multiple windows smashed in one small Auckland shopping area

Police are asking the public for information after multiple windows were smashed in a small shopping area in Auckland.

Several shops off Manuia Rd in Takanini had the windows at their front entrances shattered on Sunday morning.

A video posted to TikTok shows smashed glass on the footpath in front of several shops, including a fried chicken store, a cakeshop, and Domino's.

In the clip, building alarms are going off in the background as some shop workers sweep the broken glass up.

It is unknown if any items were stolen after the windows were broken.

A police spokesperson said they received a report of an incident at around 9am on Sunday.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact 105, quoting file number 221211/0423," they said.

Police are talking to two other shops in relation to the incident.
