A person is in hospital after being found with serious injuries in New Plymouth last night.
Police said emergency services were called to Robe Street about 11pm.
They do not know yet know how the person was injured.
A large cordon is in place and a scene investigation is underway.
A New Plymouth local said they saw a car park between Devon and Powderham Streets opposite TSB Showplace blocked off about 6am.
Police were guarding those three streets, they said.
