A month after Auckland dairy worker Janak Patel was tragically killed, Kiwis have raised over $100,000 on a Givealittle page set up for his whānau.

Patel was fatally stabbed multiple times after following a man who allegedly took the cash register drawer from Rose Cottage Superette in Sandringham in November.

The Dairy and Business Owner's Group chairman Sunny Kaushal extended the group and family's "sincerest gratitude for New Zealand’s kind support for the family of Janak Patel".

"It will have a major beneficial impact [on] helping the family, especially, at this time of the year," Kaushal said on Monday.

The Givealittle page raised $101,754.

"We thank everyone for helping us make a positive difference from tragedy. Kiwis do care," Kaushal added.

He said a statement from Patel's family would come in due course.
