A man has been arrested in the Bay of Plenty after a woman was seriously injured during an assault.
The woman was attacked on Te Matai Road in Te Puke just after midnight on January 20.
A 30-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and burglary. He will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Wednesday.
The woman is in hospital in a serious condition.
