A person has been rescued from a beach in Auckland's St Heliers.
Police, Fire and Emergency and St John were in attendance at an incident near Cliff Rd in St Heliers on Wednesday afternoon, while a police boat was also out on the water.
Authorities were attempting to get someone off a beach, which is not easily accessible, below a cliff. They were eventually airlifted into a Westpac helicopter.
St John told Newshub the person has been taken to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition.
