The search for a person missing in the water at Glenorchy in Otago will continue today.
Emergency services were called to the head of Lake Wakatipu, near the Glenorchy Waterfront Reserve, at about 4pm on Thursday.
A police spokesperson said a helicopter, jet boats and other swimmers were assisting in the search.
On Friday, police said the search will be resumed and the Police National Dive Squad are expected to arrive in Glenorchy in the afternoon to search the water.
Police are providing support to the family of the missing person, the spokesperson said.
It comes a week after a person drowned in Glenorchy's Lake Wakatipu.
Linkin Kisling, 48, died last Friday while trying to save his son in the water. His 10-year-old son survived.
